Irish reality TV icon, 51, found dead at home as devastated co-stars pay tribute

Jo Jordan, who starred in the hit reality series Dublin Wives, has tragically passed away at the age of 51 as colleagues and friends pay tribute to the beloved star

Dublin Wives’ Jo Jordan has tragically died at 51.

The reality TV favourite from Ballymun was discovered dead by a pal at her home in Ratoath, County Meath, on Friday 7th February. Known for her “kind” and “generous,” spirit, Jo became a household name on TV3’s Dublin Wives, which gave viewers a peek into the lives of five women from Dublin.

The cast also included Danielle Meagher, Lisa Murphy, Roz Flanagan, and Virginia Macari-Smurfit. After her time in the limelight, she threw herself into charity work and ran a business with her ex-husband James.

She survived a heart attack back in 2016. As word of her sudden passing spread, emotional tributes poured in from mates and colleagues throughout her career.

Roz Flanagan was left reeling with grief, while Alan McGarry, who knew Jo well, hailed her kindness and generosity. He was quoted by the Mirror saying: “Despite everything you had going on, you did your best to be there. That’s just who you were – kind, generous, and always showing up for others.”

Snapper Jerry McCarthy shared his sorrow, reflecting on Jo’s infectious warmth reports OK!. He mourned: “Life can be so cruel and nonsensical at times, taking away someone so young, full of life, and loved by those close to her. I hope she truly rests in peace.”

Dublin Live’s Robbie Kane also paid tribute to Jo, praising her warm and humorous nature: “She was warm, funny, engaging, and always had time for people,” he said. “She wore her heart on her sleeve and shot from the hip. Like many, she had her own personal battles, but being from Ballymun, she fought back.”

A heartfelt obituary announced that Jo was a “cherished mother of Gavin and Joshua, devoted grandmother of Mason and Noah, and dear sister of Paul, Sonya, Michelle, Gloria, and the late Linda.”

Tragically, Jo passed away just one year after her close friend and ‘Dublin Wives’ colleague Lisa Murphy lost her battle with cancer at 51. Jo is mourned by her loving family, including her ex-husband James, daughter-in-law Bridget (BB), and a host of relations and friends.
