Jeremy Clarkson would rather Vladimir Putin ran Britain than “imbecile” Keir Starmer. The Clarkson’s Farm host said he would `do nothing to stop an invasion’ by the war-mongering Russian president.

He said he would “take any world leader” over Starmer – including Putin, US President Donald Trump and Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Clarkson, 64, said the only leader he would draw the line at taking would be Congolese convicted war criminal Bosco Ntaganda.

The former rebel leader – ex-military chief of staff of the National Congress for the Defense of the People in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – conscripted children under 15 to fight in wars and is serving 30 years in jail for crimes against humanity.

Clarkson launched his latest attack on Starmer after a survey found more than half of the country’s Gen Z 18 to 27-year-olds are not especially proud of being British and `41% would not fight to protect our way of life’.

“I’m with them on this one,” he said. “I wouldn’t either. Right now I’d do nothing to stop an invasion because, apart from that DRC child slavery enthusiast Bosco Ntaganda, I’d take any world leader over the imbecile we have now.

“Trump, Meloni, even Putin. I’d welcome any one of them with open arms.”

Last October (2024) Clarkson addressed a London rally protesting at the Government’s decision to hit farmers with inheritance tax. He said then: “Labour’s tax changes really are terribly cruel and will affect some of the hardest working, most underpaid and under-appreciated people in the land.

“Everything possible must be done to force the Government to change its mind.”

Later – after Trump declared he wanted the US to take control of Greenland – Clarkson invited him to buy Britain too. “Anyone out there want to buy Britain? Anyone? Because whoever you are, you’ve got my vote,” he said.
