EXCLUSIVE: Former Love Island contestant Samantha Kenny revealed the secret off-camera spot where islanders can escape for a mini meltdown amid all of the villa chaos
Love Island’s Samantha Kenny has opened up about the behind-the-scenes mayhem of life in the villa and shared the hidden place islanders secretly sneak off to unwind.
The Liverpudlian make-up artist, who featured on last year’s show, spilled the tea at Shein’s VIP O Beach party in Ibiza.
Talking to Daily Star, Samantha revealed there was just one spot in the villa where she could really get away from the craziness – right outside the entrance.
“Yeah, I’m a vaper and I’d always pop outside the front door for a vape and have a mini meltdown after all the madness going on inside,” she admitted. “It’s the only place I’d get a quiet minute on my own.”
And it seems the truth of villa life is not as glamorous as it seems. Sharing with over 10 other islanders took its toll particularly when it came to cleanliness.
“Ugh, the bathroom was gross overall, you never felt clean in there,” she said. “The shower was always dodgy and it just dripped and I was like, how am I supposed to wash my hair? I used the outside one once or twice but it’s not the same.”
Samantha was spotted sunbathing at the trendy Ibiza party, wearing a cream two-piece bikini and brown cover-up from the online fashion retailer. She later caught attention at Shein’s VIP Chi Kee Wun event in a beaded shimmering beige sequin co-ord.
As they discussed the latest villa shenanigans, Samantha shared her thoughts on the comeback of steamier scenes on the ITV2 program and she’s totally in favour. “Bring them back!” she said. “Those first few seasons were the best when it was wild. With the smoking and things they used to show as well. I used to say, ‘Give me a ciggy and a coffee in the morning by that firepit and I’ll give you the juiciest gossip ever.’
And it seems she was quite the rebel during her time in the villa as well particularly when it came to the alcohol.
“I drank mine quickly as well so I got a bit of a buzz,” she giggled. “The first few days I used to steal everyone’s drink. I would swap it and take theirs and drink theirs. They would shout at me from up above and be like ‘Samantha!’ They even threatened to give me a drinking ban but thankfully I never received one.”
