Mariah Carey has worried fans after a clip her emerged of her moving slowly on stage leading them to question whether the singer is feeling up to scratch during her performance
Mariah Carey has raised eyebrows after a video from her recent Las Vegas show was shared online, following a a year of heartbreak for the star.
The short clip, posted by a fan, showed the 55-year-old singer delivering a somewhat lacklustre performance. This follows a cheeky moment she shared with Rihanna.
High-earner Carey seemed to move slowly as she interacted with her backup dancer and sang a medley of songs. The video, which was uploaded last week, led to a flurry of worried comments from fans. One asked: “Omg is she ok?” another queried “Is she in pain?”
“What is going on?” yet another questioned. “I’m a little worried about my Mimi,” one fan confessed, adding a red heart emoji.
“I love Mariah but that gave me Joe Biden vibes,” commented one observer. “By all means move at a glacial pace,” quipped a another outspoken fan.
One fan humorously suggested that the Queen of Christmas was conserving her energy for the festive season: “She saves her energy for Christmas 25,” they wrote. Carey is nearing the end of her Las Vegas residency, The Celebration of Mimi, which kicked off last year.
The series is due to wrap up on February 15. Away from her professional life, Mariah has recently been the subject of romance rumours with musician Anderson Paak. The pair first sparked dating speculation in late December when they were seen having dinner together in Aspen, Colorado.
In pictures obtained by TMZ, the Leave The Door Open singer was spotted sweetly holding her hand as they made their way into Catch Steak restaurant on December 22. At one point, he even tenderly wrapped his arm around her waist as they slipped into the eatery and, ever the gentleman, seemed to hold the door open for her.
Despite their cosy display suggesting a romantic connection, sources at the time told the publication that they were not an item but were working together on a new music project. However, days later, they fuelled further rumours of a budding romance when they were seen putting on another affectionate display in the snowy city.
They were spotted holding hands once more during another night out in Aspen. Moreover, an eyewitness noticed Anderson leaning over the table and kissing Mariah’s hand at one point during their dinner.
Following this, a source exclusively told DailyMail.com that they are taking their “brewing” relationship slowly and “aren’t forcing anything”. The insider revealed: “Anderson is such a joyful and fun person to be around.He is funny, brilliant and infects joy in everyone he is around, and Mariah has caught on to his nature and is eating it all up.
“They just have natural fun around each other and their brewing relationship has no obstacles to it because they aren’t forcing anything or getting serious about it… They are just taking it in stride as they love hanging out with each other.”
