People are finally appreciating guitar music again and it’s all down to the Noel and Liam Gallagher burying the hatchet and reuniting Oasis. Top5 rockers The K’s have personally seen the scene grow since the brothers kissed and made up.
The Oasis reunion has done more than heal old wounds – it’s saved guitar music, according to indie stars The K’s. Frontman Jamie Boyle reckons Noel and Liam Gallagher have reignited an entire scene that for years was suffering.
He told Daily Star: “The resurgence of bands is really, really strong and prominent at the minute. We see it ourselves, in ticket sales, the support at gigs, and the buzz whenever we announce something to our ever-growing fan base. People are genuinely chomping at the bit to get into venues and watch bands again.”
The band have witnessed the Oasis effect first-hand.
“We went to Cardiff and were like, ‘That is amazing.’ Then Heaton Park was even better and we’re heading to Wembley too,” Jamie said.
“It’s impossible to ignore the buzz that’s been created for guitar music and it’s no secret that they’re one of the best to ever do it, but the buzz that Oasis has created not just for themselves but for everybody is real.
“All the excitement, all the press, all everything is back on guitar for the first time in a really time.”
The K’s narrowly missed the top spot with their debut album last year after going up against Beyonce and The Libertines in a chart battle, but Jamie reckons it would have been “a little premature”.
Now with their follow-up, Pretty On The Internet dropping Friday (July 25) they want a No1.
“We genuinely feel like we can do almost anything now. We’ve proved to ourselves we can compete with anyone and everyone.”
The band are on tour for most of the year and Jamie has been taking notes from the Liam and Noel’s stage presence.
“There’s 80,000 people there and every single one of them is just stood not being able take their eyes off them on stage “To get to that level is what everybody dreams about.”
