Ozzy Osbourne’s family were emotional as he performed his final gig with Black Sabbath just weeks before his tragic death at the age of 76
Ozzy Osbourne had a pretty blunt response to his final gig, his son Jack Osbourne has confessed. The Black Sabbath icon performed one last time with the band earlier in July, just weeks before his death at the age of 76. Wife Sharon Osbourne had to come up with a deal so the gig could go ahead, which left Ozzy forced to perform from a throne.
He performed at Villa Park, with the gig raising millions for charity. And fans and critics alike heaped praised on the Prince of Darkness.
Jack told him: “Dad, you’ve got to see these reviews – they’re all amazing. Everyone loved the show and your performance.”
However, Jack, who appeared on their family reality show The Osbournes, told Daily Mail that Ozzy had quite an unexpected response.
According to Jack, he said: “Lot of f****** good that does me. I’m retired now!”
Ozzy spent his final weeks surrounded by family, with Sharon reportedly barely leaving his side in his last days.
Speaking before his death, Jack said: “Dad’s great and his mood’s really high. He’s in a really good spot right now.”
Jack was one of four of Ozzy’s children who signed off the sad announcement confirming his death, as well as Kelly, Aimee and Louis, and wife Sharon.
The statement read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
Ozzy actually had six children.
Jack and Kelly appeared on The Osbournes and have continued a showbiz career into their adult lives.
Aimee, his other daughter with second wife Sharon, shunned fame and left the family home when The Osbournes started filming in the early 2000s.
Sharon told The Talk in 2018: “It broke my heart when she moved. She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her. And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did.”
Ozzy had two children with his first wife Thelma Riley – Jessica and Louis.
Jessica was the first of Ozzy’s kids to make him a grandfather, but she lives a life out of the spotlight.
Son Louis also keeps a low profile, but described Ozzy as “very much a doting grandad” previously.
Ozzy also adopted Thelma’s son Elliot Kingsley, however little is known about him.
