On the show, viewers will witness a frustrated and embarrassed Stacey dealing with Joe’s tardiness, despite his promise not to be late. Five hours behind schedule, he finally shows up claiming: ‘There was an accident on the road… otherwise I would have been here 20 minutes earlier.”

A less than pleased Stacey retorts: “You’re five hours late. Sometimes I don’t think Joe realises the repercussions. It’s all a laugh and a joke but that meeting was really important to me,” reports the Mirror.

Many celebs would cut out the drama but Joe reckons it’s key to keeping it real and showing the not-so-glam side of life. Chatting with The Mirror, he said: “So many people represent their lives as being so perfect on Instagram. It’s our responsibility to show the real – the highs and the lows.”

“It’s not all a bed of roses. Sometimes we argue.”

The couple discovered that replaying their tiffs helps them understand where the other is coming from. Stacey explained: “You might go to see somebody and talk through your relationship and they might give you advice, but you never get to witness when you’re bickering between each other. We found that really interesting.”

“There’s definitely things in our communication where we’re like: ‘Wow, we could do that better. And we could talk about this more.”

Since the cameras started rolling, Stacey’s been on a mission to evolve: “I am trying to pick my battles. Sometimes I will watch myself and go: ‘Oh, gosh, you didn’t really need to pick up on that.’ There’s bigger issues.”

Husband Joe also admitted that “sometimes he needs to sit back and listen” instead of “being so defensive”. The I’m A Celebrity star said that the main thing he has learned is that he has “the most amazing family and kids,” which he branded “their little legacies”.

The duo first crossed paths when Stacey won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2010, while Joe was the face of the spin-off show for ITV2. It took until 2016 for them to actually kick off their romance, with wedding bells ringing in 2022.

Joe reflected: “I feel like the universe kept us away from each other until we were at certain parts of our lives. We’ve had other relationships and stuff like that so I feel like it kept us away until we were ready to meet each other.”
