Masked Singer UK fans were left divided over the 2025 winner after the celebrity was unmasked and crowned the champion of the ITV show on Saturday night’s final
The Masked Singer UK fans were left baffled as the winner was revealed, with asking the same question of ‘who is she?’
The ITV show’s grand finale saw Dressed Crab, Pufferfish and Wolf battle it out for the 2025 season title. Judges Maya Jama, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross, along with 2024 winner Danny Jones as a guest judge, made their final guesses to uncover the celebrities behind the masks.
Host Joel Dommett was there to support the singers and recap the clues about their identities. As the show concluded, viewers were excited to see Wet Wet Wet’s Marti Pellow as Wolf and singer Gregory Porter as Dressed Crab.
However, when West End star Samantha Barks was revealed as Pufferfish, reactions were mixed, with many confessing they didn’t know who she was, reports the Mirror.
Despite this, the 34-year-old from the Isle of Man has had significant roles, including Elsa in the West End’s Frozen and starring alongside Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman in the 2012 film Les Misérables.
On winning, Samantha issued a 12-word response as fans at home were left asking the same question. The winner of the singing show said to panellists: “I’ve had the best time, I really have had the best time.”
Viewers of The Masked Singer were left scratching their heads after the grand reveal, flocking to social media with one bemused fan posting: “I haven’t a clue who she is #maskedsinger.”
Another simply queried: “Who? #maskedsinger. Never heard of her..”
Meanwhile, a disappointed viewer admitted: “I’ve watched the entire series only to have never heard of that actual winner #maskedsinger.”
Yet, there were those who became instant Samantha Barks enthusiasts – and some die-hard fans were thrilled. One admirer gushed: “What an amazing final – very well deserved #samanthaBarks (I have to admit to not knowing this amazing person until this show). Stunning talent.”
A fellow supporter enthused: “Samantha Barks is an amazing singer her, love her! #MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSinger.”
This season, the sixth instalment of The Masked Singer, paraded an array of celebrities performing incognito in extraordinary get-ups.
Olympic icon Mo Farah was the first celeb to be ousted, as he was hidden in the Giant Joel attire, followed by television favourite Kate Garraway, who was masquerading as Spag Bol.
The show didn’t spare former Bake Off personalities Prue Leith and Mel Giedroyc, revealed under Pegasus and Teeth costumes respectively.
The line-up also included The Corrs’ Andrea Corr, rapper Example, songstress Carol Decker, creative whizz Grayson Perry, and EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy – each unmasked to the nation’s surprise.
The third week of The Masked Singer was filled with drama as music legend Macy Gray, who was under the Toad in the Hole costume, ‘stormed off the set’ after losing the singing contest. She later returned to reveal her identity.
The 2025 season saw a change in the judging panel as Rita Ora left the UK version to join the USA version, making way for Love Island host Maya to join Jonathan, Davina and Mo. Danny Jones from McFly won the 2024 season, stunning fans with his powerful vocals while disguised as Piranha.
He also had a successful year on reality shows in 2024, winning The Voice with McFly co-star Tom Fletcher and their contestant Ava, and being crowned winner of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! beating WAG Coleen Rooney and celebrity priest The Reverend Richard Coles.
