TV star Lisa Snowdon surprises guests as ‘chief joy officer’ at plush new Windsor hotel

Guests were surprised to see the TV and radio presenter as they checked in at the new hotel

TV and radio star Lisa Snowdon has been crowned ‘chief joy officer’ at a brand new riverside hotel, tasked with spreading cheer among the guests.

The popular presenter was given the title of CJO for a day, delighting guests with surprise appearances during their check-in process.

Lisa’s appointment was part of the launch celebrations for Reserve at Warner Hotels’ latest flagship destination, The Runnymede on Thames in Windsor.

Speaking about her unique role, Lisa enthused: “There’s nothing quite like the experience of a short break it’s the perfect way to reset and recharge.

“In my role as chief joy officer, it was great to meet guests and take time out to enjoy the many things that make a short break truly magical.”

She was even spotted unwinding in the spa and participating in a cocktail-making masterclass.

Sue Wolton, general manager at The Runnymede on Thames, praised: “Short breaks are the perfect way to recharge and escape the stresses of everyday life.

“It was great to work with Lisa to help showcase the joy a short break can bring as an advocate for mental, physical and spiritual well-being she was the perfect candidate for the role.

“As well as bringing joy to our team and guests, Lisa had the opportunity to try out everything on offer at the hotel including its beautiful riverside setting, vibrant activities, entertainment and luxurious spa – and we’re certain she left feeling refreshed.”

Snowdon’s new role as CJO comes hot on the heels of a study commissioned by Warner Hotels, delving into how mini-breaks boost Brits’ spirits.

A survey of 2,000 UK residents revealed that nearly half are secretly ticking off the days until their next holiday, keen to shake off the monotony of everyday life.

But real-life obstacles like money constraints, hectic work hours and busy lifestyles stop many from jetting off as much as they’d love to.
