Wynne Evans Strictly scandal twist as star to ‘take BBC to tribunal’ after tour axe

Wynne Evans is reportedly planning to take the BBC to a tribunal to contest his dismissal from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour and his BBC Radio Wales show last month

Singer Wynne Evans is reportedly prepping for battle against the BBC with plans to drag them to a tribunal over his recent sacking from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour and his spot on BBC Radio Wales last month.

The Welsh opera sensation, who faced flak for blurting out an “inappropriate and unacceptable” comment during the tour’s curtain-raiser in January, was left hanging his head in shame.

An insider claims Wynne, 53, “wants to seek some recompense” as the fiasco has shredded his reputation. They said: “He said he is going to a tribunal with the BBC and will fight with every breath in his body. Wynne feels he has been treated unfairly and won’t go down without a fight.

“As well as an unfair dismissal, Wynne thinks he has a case for loss of earnings, as well as a potential breach of contract. He is being advised by a legal team and thinks he has a strong case to take forward,” revealed the insider to The Sun.

The Go Compare ad icon had previously apologised, admitting he was “deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused”. Laying it bare, he stated: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing”, reports the Express.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”
