Chaos of Adam Peaty and Holly wedding – ‘mobbed’ bride, brutal text and blunt review

Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at the historic Bath Abbey, but the big day wasn’t without its drama following weeks of a bitter family feud

Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding had its fair share of drama.

The Olympic swimmer tied the knot with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter at Bath Abbey in a beautiful, star-studded ceremony on Saturday (December 28). They said “I do” in front of the likes of The TV chef and David and Victoria Beckham.

It was followed by a reception at the nearby Kin House, a huge Georgian manor near Chippenham with a 10-acre garden, a private pool, a secret stage and more. But sadly, the lead up to the big day was plagued by a bitter family feud.

Most of Adam’s family, including his parents, were uninvited from the wedding apart from his sister Beth, who was a maid of honour with Holly’s sisters Tilly and Megan. In many ways it was a fairytale wedding, and there’s no doubt newlyweds Adam and Holly were having the time of their life.

The bride and groom were beaming as they exited the church surrounded by their loved ones. However, it wasn’t without its fair share of drama, and the Daily Star has rounded up some of the chaotic moments from the big day.

The scuffle

Given the high-profile nature of the event and the celebrity attendees, it was no surprise that there was a significant media presence outside the abbey as Holly arrived with dad Gordon, flanked by security. But things soon descended into chaos.

Most of the press were stationed in a designated area at the front of the venue, bu some members of the paparazzi rushed in from a back exit. They allegedly tried to intercept Ramsay and her famous dad as they made their way towards the church.

This led to a big clash with security guards, who formed a protective barrier around Holly and Gordon who were caught up in the disturbance. A fracas reportedly broke out in a narrow corridor adjacent to the church.

Holly was seen looking alarmed as the scuffle unfolded around her. A source told Hello! Magazine that events “descended into chaos”, with “Gordon and Holly, in her wedding dress, being jostled around just as she entered the church.”

Devastating text

Adam’s aunt reportedly sent him a furious text message before he walked down the aisle. His aunt Louise, who was not invited, is said to have ripped into Adam and Holly for how she believes they have treated Adam’s mum Caroline (also not invited).

According to MailOnline, she texted him: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.

“Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.”

Dad’s snub

It’s said Adam offered dad Mark an olive branch before the big day. Mark is said to have received a last-minute invitation to the wedding before Christmas.

However, it’s believed he was told he would have to sit at the back of the church during the ceremony. A family source told The Sun on Sunday: “Frankly, it’s disgusting that it went ahead without Adam reaching out to his mum and dad beforehand.”

They added: “It was a difficult day for Caroline and Mark, so the family spent the evening together. Caroline got upset as soon as she saw the photographs from the wedding.

“For him to turn around and tell Beth that his dad could come and sit at the back of the church is awful. Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones — who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to.”

Mum’s heartache

Adam’s mum Carolinehas been public with her heartache over her fractured relationship with the swimmer in the lead up to the wedding. She previously said she believes it’s “the end” of her relationship with her son. She told the Daily Mail: “I know it’s the end.

“But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.

“There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much. I hope your marriage is a good one, I don’t wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage, like your dad and me. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end.”

Caroline recently revealed she would no longer be gatecrashing the ceremony. She said she had originally planned on turning up, but Mark is said to have inspired a change of heart, persuading her it would be “too upsetting” to watch.

Brutal review

Security at the wedding was tight, and guests were given wristbands to make it clear they were allowed in. One guest wasn’t too fond of the wristbands, which had “H&A” stitched on them.

They told The Sun: “It was a lovely day, but with the wristband it felt more like a hospital appointment.”

Another invitee, sports presenter John Reynolds, posted a close-up of his wrist, adorned with the festive green band with gold H&A initials. He captioned the post: “@adam_peaty and @hollyramsay 4 EVA” with a loved-up emoji.
