A former reality TV show has been arrested on disturbing sex charges in Ohio, US. Tony McCollister, who once appeared on A&E’s Neighbors With Benefits – a show about swinging lifestyles, was apprehended by authorities in Warren County and charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor and engaging in sexual conduct with animals, per WLWT .
McCollister is alleged to have uploaded child sexual abuse material to his Google account and have committed acts involving two dogs he owned, prosecutors say.
The reality star was arraigned this week and hit with a $250,000 bond after the shocking allegations surfaced. He is now being held in jail ahead of his next court appearance, scheduled for December 30.
McCollister was one of several ‘swingers’ featured on the 2015 series, which was pulled after two episodes following public outrage.
A&E announced it would not air the remaining episodes, quietly shelving the series altogether. Insiders later suggested a slim chance they could surface online.
The short-lived series, produced by Haymaker, followed several married couples living in an ordinary Ohio suburb while they got involved in open relationships.
Their lives as parents, professionals, soccer moms and Little League coaches was also captured on the series.
It premiered on March 22, 2015, on the former A&E network. One of the clips from the show – available on YouTube – shows Tony and his wife awkwardly trying to recruit a ‘third party’ to join their relationship.
Prosecutors asked for the high bond and that McCollister have no contact with minors or pets.
