Claudia Schiffer hired security to protect her from kinky thieves after undies

Claudia Schiffer had to hire security guards to protect her bras from kinky thieves.

The supermodel’s fans were so obsessed with her in the 1990s they would swipe her undies if they were not locked down.

Claudia, 49, said: “When I was out on the runway I’d come back and my underwear would be gone – my bra, my knickers… gone!”

During her “insane” fame in the 1990s, when she was treated “like a Rockstar”, the mum-of-three was constantly mobbed by frenzied fans.

And the paparazzi were so desperate to nab sneaky pictures of her that they would resort to bizarre tricks.

The original supermodel said: “You couldn’t get to your car unless a path was carved for you.

She explained: “People would cut holes in the fashion tents and try to take pictures of us. We had security at every fashion show.”

But the German model still kicks herself for turning down the chance to in George Michael’s Freedom music video – which starred all her fellow “supers” – Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and Christy Turlington.

She confessed: “I was working with a lot of high-end brands at that time and I just thought ‘that doesn’t fit with the strategy right now’.

“It (missing the opportunity to be in the video) was stupid.”
