Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are believed to have made a full 360-degrees career move before signing their deal with Netflix, it has emerged, after the Queen stopped them using their royal title.
The pair will be working with the company to produce a string of documentaries, films, scripted shows and children’s programmes – but the lucrative move is now thought to have been their second resort.
It is said that their agreement is worth an estimated £75 million, with the couple able to rake in up to an eyewatering £180 million in bonuses.
Following their decision to step back from royal duties in order to live a “financially independent” lifestyle in Los Angeles, Harry and Meghan said they hoped to share “impactful” productions and “unlock action”.

But speaking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie revealed that the ex-senior Royals initially had a much different career choice.
“It must have felt kind of nice to put in writing and release that information that they haven’t been receiving any money,” said Roberta.
“It confirms that they are doing this on their own and they planned for that and are going to be alright.”

Rachel Bowie said: “I didn’t expect it to be so so quickly. Six months later, they’re already wiping their hands of the Royal Family’s coffers.
“What struck me as most surprising is how quickly they were able to follow through their plans.”
She went on to suggest that Meghan and Harry “laid out these plans” before their controversial decision to step back from royal duties.

Throwing a spanner into the works, Roberta revealed that the Netflix deal was a Plan B after the Queen “put a stop to” what had been Plan A.
“They also had to pivot from their full plan. They were going to do SussexRoyal, but the Queen put a stop to that,” she said.
“They really had a different idea in their heads in January of how this would all go.

“So I’m curious how long the Netflix deal has been in discussions, but I feel like they have made things happen.”
Their bombshell comments come days after it was revealed that Prince Harry hadn’t informed his gran, Her Majesty The Queen, about his career plans.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Harry did not inform the Queen about the Netflix deal,” before claiming the Queen was told by confidantes.
They added: “Her Majesty is all too aware of the pitfalls of when senior royals embark on lucrative projects – Prince Edwards’ production flop and some of the deals Sarah Ferguson has signed over the years to name a few.”
