Unsolved Mysteries volume 2 has finally dropped on Netflix, with six new and unexplained cases.
One of the episodes, titled Death Row Fugitive, details the case of America’s most notorious fugitive Lester Eubanks.
Eubanks was convicted of killing Mary Ellen Deener during an attempted rape, 14, in 1965 in Ohio, US.
The teenager was helping her mother with chores when Eubanks spotted her, and pulled her behind a house.
Eubanks tried to remove her underwear, and when she put a fight Eubanks pulled out a revolver and shot her twice in the stomach.
The criminal, who is now 76-years-old, is on the FBI’s most wanted list, and considered to be a highly dangerous individual.
Almost 47 years later he is still on the run.
How did Lester Eubanks escape?
Eubank’s prison escape story isn’t as dramatic as you might think.

According to the US Marshals Service, he “just walked away”.
On December 7, 1973, prison officials took the convicted murderer to a shopping centre in Columbus, Ohio.
As a reward for good behaviour, they let him go Christmas shopping unsupervised.
The US Marshals Service said: “When Eubanks failed to return to his scheduled pick up location, he was reported as an escapee, and has eluded authorities ever since.”

Officials believe the felon is still alive and using an alias.
Due to leads in the investigation, they believe he could be located in Michigan or California.
Deputy US Marshal David Siler said: “Lester Eubanks has had a lot of time on the lam.
“Fugitives on the run as long as Eubanks tend to use that time to change their appearance, use aliases, and even start new lives.
“He literally could be hiding in plain sight. This is why we are asking citizens to be vigilant and contact us with any information they believe will help us apprehend him.”
