Emmerdale teen Gabby Thomas is set for an explosive new storyline in the weeks to come, unexpectedly falling pregnant with her boss Jamie Tate’s baby.
Thursday’s episode sets the scene for her steamy night of passion with Kim Tate’s son, as she spends the evening at Home Farm.
However, ahead of their illicit romp, it was Gabby’s wardrobe that got tongues wagging.
As part of her uniform as a waitress at The Hide, Gabby, played by Rosie Bentham, wears a denim apron with a matching face mask, layered over a striped T-shirt.
However, during most of her scenes in the cafe, her mask was dangling off one ear – failing to fight the spread of Covid.
The other waitress on shift, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), was slightly better at wearing her mask, though eventually whipped it off altogether for a chat with Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).
Taking to Twitter, viewers were baffled by Gabby’s wardrobe mishap, as they branded her approach to mask-wearing as “pointless”.
“Why is Gabby’s mask always dangling round her ear. #Emmerdale,” said one.
And a second chimed: “Why bother having the mask on her ear , pointless #emmerdale”
“Why does Gabby always have her mask hanging off her ear!” fumed a fourth.
The teenager is set to expect a Tate baby, paving the way for a juicy storyline known as “The Battle For Home Farm” over the course of the coming months.
Gabby caught the attention of Emmerdale matriarch Kim (Claire King) on Thursday’s episode, when she kept her informed on the spat unfolding between Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Jamie (Alexander Lincoln).
Furious over Mack’s recent deception, Jamie headed to the farm to toss petrol over the barn, hoping to set the wooden structure ablaze.
However, little did he know that young Kyle was playing hide and seek inside the cavernous structure, tucked away between the bales of hay.
Can Mack save his nephew before the flames start to spread?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
