Carol Vorderman pours curves into skintight leather for Grand Slam throwback

Carol Vorderman was feeling proud be Welsh this weekend, as she remembered a nail-biting Six Nations match from two years ago.

The former Countdown presenter, 60, had been one of the Welsh supporters in the crowd, cheering on the team as they managed to beat the excellent Irish crew.

Sharing throwback photos from the match, Carol could be seen wearing a Welsh T-shirt, tucked into some black leather trousers.

Beaming with national pride, she remembered: “What a weekend that was… took me a week to calm down.”

Her tee, which featured red sleeves and a black base, was embellished with a flaming scarlet Welsh dragon.

After the match, she stood in front of the arena and threw her arms out in victory, playing the team’s siren song, Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhada, over the snapshot.

Despite a valiant effort from the Irish team at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the Welsh stormed home to victory.

With a score of 25 to seven, it was Wales’ third Grand Slam under Warren Gatland.

Seated in an A-list pew for the match, Carol revealed she had been in the company of royalty during the game.

Sharing a snap of the crowd, she told fans: “Sitting behind Prince William for some reason or other.”

Carol makes no secret of her proud Welsh heritage, with her new series Closer to Home airing earlier this year.

The BBC production sees Carol enjoy a road trip of North Wales, taking in the sights everywhere from Denbighshire to Conwy.

Discussing the series earlier this year, she said: “I’ll be reconnecting with the places I grew up and rediscovering the people, the places and the stories that have shaped my life.”

Carol’s hometown, Prestatyn, also makes an appearance in the riveting factual series, as she reflected on Welsh society in the 60s and 70s.

And, the TV personality is adept at speaking her native tongue, having set about re-learning the language two years ago with the help of specialised apps.

At the time, she asked fans: “Calling all Welshies advice wanted, please. I used to be OK at speaking Welsh as a teenager….many moons ago (lots of family were fluent and many first language Welsh)…

“I want to get fluent (ish) for conversation again… Which apps or help is best?”
