Telly comic Vic Reeves has claimed he saw a ghost that was three foot tall, made of mist and egg-shaped.
He said he got the scare after objects started flying about when he was in a band as a teen.
Vic, 62, revealed: “I was in a band when I was about 16 and we used to rehearse in an old woodwork shop which was the guitarist’s dad’s place.
“And things like planks would fly off tables and we’d hear footsteps going up and down stairs.
“One night we were rehearsing and we heard these footsteps and things started going mad, things were flying and that.
“So we ran outside, into an alleyway outside, and what I can only describe as an egg – a three-foot sized egg – came out of the doors and then disappeared.
“It was an egg shaped thing, like a mist – maybe it was alien.”
Vic said on his podcast with pal Jools Holland that the rest of the band didn’t see the strange spirit, only him.
He added: “I saw that and then really casually went to the pub afterwards and said, ‘I’ve just seen a ghost’ in a really flippant way, because I still couldn’t believe it.
“The other two members, the drummer and the guitarist, were looking in and it went through them.
“They didn’t see it – it was only me that saw it go through them.”
Meanwhile, Vic is set to release an autobiography after his own brush with death, as he had to have unexpected surgery back in 2015.
He said of the book, which will explore his whole colourful life: “With over 60 years of tomfoolery and shenanigans under my belt I thought it was time to write them all down and let the public make of them what they will.”
