Arnie dubbed 'Squirminator' as he won't stop quoting own catchphrases to family

Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his friends and family squirm by constantly quoting his own catchphrases.

The Terminator star, 73, can’t resist saying, “I’ll be back!”, when he parts company with anyone, his eldest son Patrick revealed.

Even loved ones cringe when Arnie drops the one-liner into conversations, as well as other classics such as “Hasta la vista, baby” and even “Put that cookie down!” from Jingle All the Way.

Patrick, also an actor, said at the end of every visit: “He’ll turn back and be like, ‘I’ll be back!’ I’ll be like, ‘Dad, really? Come on.’

“Everybody always asks, ‘Does your dad always say his one-liners?’ And I’m like, ‘All the time.’”

The 27-year-old reckons hearing the lines is still a thrill for older film fans, even if it leaves younger ones baffled.

He added: “The dad will shove the kid to get an autograph from my dad or something.

“The kid probably has no idea who my dad is and my dad will just scream one of his one-liners at him and the kid’s like, ‘What? I don’t know what that is.”

Meanwhile, as we previously reported, Arnie is the man we would choose to lead Earth in the event of an alien invasion, a poll found.

A study of 2,000 British adults revealed the top 20 celebrities and public figures they believe would be best suited to deal with an alien invasion.

He can’t resist saying “I’ll be back!”

Will Smith was a close second to Arnie thanks to his ‘experience’ in dealing with the space creatures in his iconic role in ‘Independence Day’, and national treasure and animal expert Sir David Attenborough came third, followed by Bruce Willis and Tom Cruise.

‘Aliens’ actress Sigourney Weaver also made the cut along with ‘Star Wars’ hero Harrison Ford and ‘X-Files’ star Gillian Anderson.

Nicola Sturgeon was judged the most popular British politician for dealing with visitors from another galaxy, rating higher than PM Boris Johnson.

And former US president Donald Trump featured in the top 10, ahead of his successor Joe Biden and US Vice President, Kamala Harris.

A spokesman for the TV channel BLAZE, which commissioned the research as part of UFO Week on the station, said: “Arnold Schwarzenegger is a strong choice for dealing with an alien invasion, bearing in mind he’s not only a screen action hero but was also Governor of California.

“Although it’s worrying to see that so many celebrities with fictional alien experience are considered by many to be better candidates than our current crop of world leaders.”
