A Place in the Sun fans distracted by guests' strong 'Brummie' accents on show

A Place on the Sun viewers were preoccupied when a couple from the West Midlands were on the show looking for a holiday home in Spain.

Tony and Carol, who have been married more than 40 years, had a budget of £75,000 and had set their hearts on the town of Sucina.

In Wednesday’s episode (June 9) of the Channel 4 show, viewers at home seemed to target the couple’s “Brummie” accent on social media, distracted by their native twangs.

One remarked: “The word ‘actually’ has to be said in a Brummie accent.”

Poking fun at the way they pronounced the word “nice,” another fan quipped: “Noice soize…yeah it’s noice…loovlay….noice!”

A third viewer commented: “Noice cubburds!”

Someone else joked about how they said the word “nine,” tweeting: “You can get Noine people in there!”#aplaceinthesun.”

Elsewhere during the show, Tony and Carol began laughing when Scarlette showed them an old farmhouse in the middle of a field.

The pair wanted a home with a swimming pool and lots of privacy which was difficult to find in the middle of town for a small budget, so Scarlette took a risk with a more rural location.

It didn’t pay off and the couple felt the property needed too much work.

Fortunately, Tony and Carol’s search with Scarlette turned out to be fruitful and they fell in love with property number three – a two-bedroom villa in Sucina.

This well-maintained villa was on the market for €85,000 with furniture included and it had a bright open plan living room and kitchen, secure inner courtyard, large private roof terrace and front garden.

It was just a five-minute walk to the town, 15 minutes to the beach, and it was a short drive from the airport.

They put an offer in of £65,000 which was rejected, but went a bit higher and got the villa.
