The One Show presenter Alex Jones has given birth to her third child and first daughter.
The 44-year-old BBC star and her husband Charlie Thomson are already parents to Teddy and Kit.
They welcomed their eldest son Edward or ‘Teddy’ in 2017 and their second son Kit was born in 2019.
Now, Alex has revealed that she and Charlie have welcomed their third child, a daughter, taking to social media sharing a snap of her cradling the newborn moments after giving birth,
Alongside an adorable snap of her daughter’s feet, she penned: “We have some news………Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21.”
“Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.”
Alex went on to add: “Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the 3 of them and to be a family of 5.
“It still doesn’t feel real!!! Thank you to everyone at the Queen Charlotte hospital for all your support again, especially super midwife Audrey. “
Fans instantly flocked to the comment section to congratulate the Welsh beauty.
“This is absolutely gorgeous news, huge congratulations to you all. She’s beautiful and hope you’re recovering well,” wrote one.
While a second penned: “Congratulations!!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous news.”
“Awww congratulations all!!” commented a third.
Signing off for her maternity leave from The One Show on August, Alex thanked loyal viewers on Twitter.
She wrote: “I’m overwhelmed by all your kind messages after tonight’s show!
“The thing is… working on The One Show during the pandemic has kept me sane and I am truly grateful for your warm welcome every night. I’m off to have our little girl now and swap the green sofa for bath time.”
Alex is a hugely popular part of The One Show, having spent 11 years on the show. During that time she has had two other children and returned to the show after her maternity leave.
During her emotional on screen farewell to the show, which was packed with heartfelt messages from fans and colleagues, Alex welled up.
She said: “Oh well you know me, I cry anyway at the slightest thing but honestly, being here has just been superb. I love doing it every night and it’s really hard to go away, even though it’s the third time. It’s hard to go away.”

She then thanked fans who have been hard at work since the baby announcement: “And I just want to say in case I missed anybody, a big thank you to everybody who has knitted lovely little gifts for the baby. There is about 25 cardigans. She will be in cardigan heaven this little girl.
The host is hoping to return in the Autumn as she takes a few months away from work.
Alex and husband Charlie first met at a party in 2011 and have been together for ten years.
Charlie likes to stay away from the limelight, but Alex frequently posts pics of the pair on her Instagram page and provides her fans with insight into her family life.
In 2012, Alex admitted that she enjoyed not dating someone who worked in showbiz, saying: “It’s so refreshing to be with someone outside of the media industry.
“A lot of people think it’s better to be with someone who understands how it works, but this works for me.”
