Maya Jama poses for sweet snap with new boss Simon Cowell as she lands 'dream' role

Maya Jama has shared her “good news” with fans as she prepares to become the host of brand new ITV talent show, Walk The Line later on this year.

Maya will join former X Factor judge Simon Cowell on the new format which is co-produced and co-developed by his company Syco Entertainment and Lifted Entertainment as part of ITV Studios.

The game show will offer music acts a chance to win a life changing cash prize of £500,000. The contestants will also get the opportunity to perform their material in front of Simon, a panel of judges and the British public.

Taking to Instagram to publicise the new programme, brunette bombshell Maya expressed her happiness and described her new gig as a dream come true.

Posting a picture of herself gleaming alongside business mogul Simon who was also all smiles in the snap, the star penned: “GOOD NEWS GANG.

“From watching talent shows made by this man growing up to hosting one myself on big bloody ITV is honestly a dream.

“I don’t wana get all deep on here but the journey has been a mad one & I am so so grateful for the opportunity and excited for this next chapter. Walk The Line .. coming soooon .. brb gna scream off my balcony.”

Maya’s presenting track record is undoubtedly impressive, with several TV bosses wanting to scoop the former Radio 1 DJ up.

At the age of 27, the brunette bombshell set a new record as the youngest ever host of the MOBO Awards. She also hosted the EE BAFTA film red carpet, ITV’s Brit Awards Backstage show, Stand up to Cancer and Comic Relief.

Discussing her many talents, a show insider told The Sun: “Maya is undoubtedly one of the most exciting new faces on British television right now. Everybody is chuffed to have her on board to present Walk The Line.

“Maya and Simon already have a great rapport so it’s a no-brainer to have her joining the show.

“It’s a new format so it’s a perfect hire, as Maya brings something fresh and exciting. It really seems like the perfect fit.”
