Katie Price’s ex Kieran Hayler wants her to 'go back to rehab' after drink-drive crash

Katie Price’s ex-husband Kieran Hayler has reportedly said he wants Katie to go back to rehab and is said to be “upset” with the glamour model.

Katie, 43, was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning after her BMW dramatically rolled over while she was at the wheel.

The star later pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving while disqualified in court on Wednesday.

Now former stripper Kieran, who shares children Bunny, seven, and Jett, eight, with the mum-of-five, is said to be incredibly concerned for his ex-wife despite staying quiet on social media.

Speaking to The Sun, a source allegedly close to Kieran said: “Kieran thinks Katie needs to sort her life out and pull things together. He’s so worried about her but also very upset that this could affect their children.

“He wants her to get help and go back to rehab to get her head together.”

It comes after Katie told police: “I took drugs” and was found to have cocaine in her system after her drink-drive crash.

Crawley Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday that Katie told police: “I took drugs, I should not be driving, I admit it all.”

Her solicitor, Joe Harrington, said that Katie had been having “a lot of personal problems recently”.

He told the court: “Currently she is in the process of bankruptcy proceedings, so her house may be repossessed.

“So, quite a lot going on in this lady’s life, a really difficult period.”

Despite warnings that she could be sent to prison for the offence, Katie was told that her sentencing would be deferred on the condition that she have rehabilitation treatment at the Priory Centre and not commit any further offences.

She has been banned from driving in the interim and must comply with the probation service so a report can be prepared.

Chair of the bench Julie Hutton said: “On that basis, Ms Price, you are free to go and good luck at the Priory.”

The star’s family issued a statement this week admitting their ‘concern’ for the I’m a Celeb star, which read: “As a family, we have for some time been concerned about Kate’s wellbeing and overall mental health.

“Today our worst fears nearly came true.

“As a family, we have been and will continue to help Kate get the help she needs.

“We hope that she will realise that she cannot battle her issues alone.”

The social media statement continued: “We would kindly ask that the media and wider public give Kate the time and space she needs to seek the necessary treatment so that she can hopefully return to the Kate we know and love as a mother, daughter and sister.

“We are concerned and worried about her deeply, we know she lives her life publicly and to many, she is fair game, but as a family, we hope she can find her path privately moving forward during this very difficult period in her life.

“We are not asking for sympathy – just that it is recognised that Kate is unwell.

“We take great comfort in reading the messages of support and love for Kate that we will pass on to her, in the hope that these positive messages will help spur her on.”

It concluded: “It takes great strength for one to acknowledge they need help, we hope the door is now open for Kate to learn to love herself and to be happy within. mental illness is not a personal failure.

“The Price Family xxx”.
