Piers Morgan has shared his concerns for the Queen after she pulled out of an upcoming COP26 reception about climate change in Scotland.
The 56-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday to share his thoughts on the matter as Her Majesty continues to be treated from her home in Windsor.
A statement from Buckingham Palace explained the 95-year-old has “regretfully decided” to skip the event following the advice of her doctor to rest and recover from her illness.
The royal was expected to attend the event in Glasgow with Prince Charles and Camilla as well as Prince William and Kate.
Although she has returned to Windsor Castle, Her Majesty will only be focusing on her return to full health and will only take on “light duties.”
The Palace’s statement reads in full: “Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle.
“Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the Evening Reception of COP26 on Monday, 1st November.
“Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegated via a recorded video message.”
Shocked that she would be missing such an important event, the Britain’s Got Talent judge shared his best wishes online.
While re-posting an article discussing the Queen’s latest decision to pull out of the event, he penned: “I’m now officially worried about the Queen.
“Very unusual for her to miss big events like this. Hope she gets all the rest & treatment she needs.”
Many of his eight million followers flooded his comments section with their thoughts and theories behind the Queen’s illness online as the royal continues to recover from Windsor Castle.
One user penned: “I think losing Prince Phillip has taken its toll. Get some rest your majesty.”
Another replied: “Me too. Unsurprising given her age though losing her husband will no doubt affect her health.
“Given time and rest, I’m sure she’ll bounce back,” they concluded.
A third chimed in with: “Don’t Piers because now I’m worried. I hope she’s ok.”
Piers also wished the royal well following her brief overnight stay in hospital last week when she first fell sick where she underwent some preliminary tests.
