I'm A Celeb set to make huge ITV return tonight after Storm Arwen 'disaster'

Ant and Dec are set to welcome I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmates back to the set at Gwrych Castle in North Wales after five days without a live show.

This follows the show’s extended cancellation over the weekend after Storm Arwen caused “significant damage” across the country.

ITV bosses confirmed: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will return from tomorrow night (Tuesday 30th November) on ITV and ITV Hub with a brand new show. Ant & Dec will be back presenting live from the Castle.”

The programme will be back on ITV at 9pm tonight.

The future of this year’s series – the second one to be filmed in Wales – was in doubt following the disruption to filming.

Viewers can’t wait to see Ant and Dec return

All contestants were removed from the set for their safety after the live element of the show was abandoned on Friday.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Production worked round the clock to get the site back up and running.”

The camp was badly affected by the storm, with pictures showing marquees ripped to shreds, and roofs and canopies ripped from structures.

Ant and Dec have missed the show

However, an inspection of Gwrych Castle miraculously revealed it has thankfully not sustained any damage.

The weekend editions of I’m A Celebrity were replaced by compilation shows, which saw viewers switch off. Monday’s show was replaced by Freddie and Jamie’s DNA Journey, featuring Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.

Quarantine conditions for the celebs mean that their secure Covid bubble hasn’t been affected.

Normal service is resuming

If they came into contact with anybody outside of the show’s secure Covid bubble, they wouldn’t be allowed to return to camp.

This was why Richard Madeley had to leave the show after just four days, when a trip to hospital brought him into contact with people outside of the I’m A Celebrity bubble.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Richard told Ben Shepherd that his short stay had affected his weight.

“You are hungry, because we were in the Clink [the very basic camp half of the celebrities started off in] all we were getting is rice and beans,” he said

“People think that can’t be too bad but it’s tasteless – they don’t put salt on or any kind of seasoning and you don’t get much. I was on about 750 calories a day, I’ve lost at least three pounds.”
