Eamonn Holmes waved goodbye to ITV’s This Morning last year and started off 2022 with a big change as he joined the GB News panel.
The TV presenter, who previously hosted the ITV show with his wife Ruth Langsford, will now have a regular segment with Isabel Webster, titled Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel.
The segment will take place daily from 6am to 9:30am, though to kick off the show Eamonn joined at 6:30am and celebrated his appearance on the show.
As Eamonn confessed it was a shock to the system to get up so early for the show, he told viewers that it was “worthwhile”.
The host said: “Everything is good except getting up at this time.
“What makes it worthwhile is knowing that you guys are out there and I’m getting nice messages from people all over the country who are looking forward to whatever we’re going to do.”
Giving a sneak peek of what would be coming up, Isabel said: “The heart of our programme is going to be your news, your stories.”
The pair recognised that they will be listening to the audience to gather their stories which will appear on the news channel on a daily basis.
Viewers were quick to share their joy of the new hosting duo on Twitter, with one user writing: “Good to see you on screen Eamonn Holmes, your loss ITV!”
Another wrote: “Looking good, looking good Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster.”
A third said: “Watching now, you’re fab as always Eamonn! Loving it so far, really brightening up my mornings.”
A fourth added: “Fantastic seeing Eamonn on the GB News sofa this morning.”
Eamonn recently announced his move from This Morning to GB News as he said: “I’ve spent my career on broadcasting firsts and start-ups, and GB News is one of the most exciting yet.
“It’s just the kind of shake-up the industry needs. I’ve admired GB News from the beginning for its clever mix of punch debate but delivered with warmth and even some fun.
“To be the great honour in journalism is to give a voice and respect to the unheard, and that is exactly what GB news is about.”
Eamonn has now stepped away from This Morning after 15 years, leaving many fans devastated – but most are excited to follow and support him on his new journey.
GB News Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel continues weekdays from 6am.
