Hollyoaks star promises explosive scenes as Ollie's mum Scarlett returns to village

Hollyoaks star Gabriel Clark has teased explosive scenes as Ollie Morgan’s mother is set to return to the village.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Susie Amy will reprise her role as Scarlett Morgan later this year.

Fans of the Channel 4 soap will remember her previous outing when she entered the village to sign divorce papers for Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) and check in on her son.

Regarding her return, former Footballers’ Wives actress Susie said at the time: “So happy to be bringing Scarlett back to Hollyoaks, really looking forward to a brilliant new storyline and seeing everyone.”

Gabriel, who took over the role as Ollie in 2020, has since opened up about his on-screen mum coming back to Hollyoaks.

He told Daily Star: “It’s really exciting. Susie is an absolutely incredible actress.

“I’m sure there will be lots of explosive drama in typical Hollyoaks fashion but my lips are sealed.”

As well as opening up about the return of Scarlett, Gabriel also talked about a recent photoshoot he took part in alongside his co-stars to mark LGBT+ History Month.

The Channel 4 soap has helped break ground for the community in many ways over the years.

Hollyoaks has aired some iconic LGBTQ moments, including the first same-sex marriage in a British soap, and one of the first soaps to cast a transgender person to portray a regular transgender character.

Gabriel explained: “I get messages from fans asking how to come out or what to say to their parents or guardians or friends and I often try to point them into the direction of charities but I can offer a certain degree of help because it’s an experience I’ve been through.

“There will also be hateful people but what’s nice is that they are in the minority and they want people to feel like a minority but their voices aren’t as loud as love, joy and people wanting to uplift each other.

“Just because I’m on TV it doesn’t change the way I feel as a person. I am quite sensitive and sometimes you’ve got to prep yourself to look through comment sections.

“Hollyoaks fans are fantastic and so supportive. I play a straight character so not many people know I am gay.

“Doing the photoshoot is really important to highlight that we’re not just our characters and we exist beyond them

Ollie has had a difficult time resulting following his dad Luke’s FTD health diagnosis and his split from girlfriend Becky Quentin (Katie McGlynn).

Teasing what fans can expect from Ollie in the near future, Gabriel said: “There’s going to be a lot of him reassessing where he is in his life and for the first time there’s a moment of stillness in his life.

He’s going to start taking on a different role in the Cunningham household.”

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
