Adam Barlow is on a downward spiral in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street as his life starts to fall apart after he found himself caught up in Lydia Chambers’ scheme.
Over the past few weeks, his ex-girlfriend has managed to tear his marriage apart after she convinced his wife Sarah that she and Adam had an affair.
And the vindictive ex is said to be turning up the heat on her manipulative master plan as she prepares to provide the blonde bombshell with “evidence” of Adam’s betrayal as she collects receipts and threatening text messages this week.
After hearing of the latest development in his bitter feud with his former flame, the solicitor couldn’t help but turn to drink as he struggles to keep control of his love life.
But this isn’t the end for Lydia and Adam as the pair soon come face to face later on this week after the disgraced husband hit rock bottom.

At the start of the week, Adam believes Sarah is starting to come around after she invites him to Harry’s birthday party.
However, his optimism is short-lived after his heartbroken wife announced that she has decided to file for divorce as she prepares to move on from their relationship.
But Adam is determined to make their marriage work as he pinches his estranged wife’s phone and arranges a meeting with Lydia while Sarah is distracted at the party.

The solicitor arranged to meet his ex in a coffee shop where he secretly recorded their conversation on his phone in the hopes to prove to Sarah that he remained faithful.
However, Lydia quickly saw through his charade as he attempted to prise the truth out of her, when she snatched his phone and quickly deleted the recording.
Desperate to end her mind games, Adam asserted his dominance and wrestled his phone out of her hands but as Lydia let go, the phone smashes to the floor.

Lydia couldn’t help but fume at Adam for his poor treatment of her so many years ago, and despite Adam showing his guilt for their toxic relationship back in the day, Lydia is not willing to forgive him quite so easily.
As he suggests it’s time she tells Sarah the truth, Lydia lashes out at her ex as it dawns on her that he’s still the same old Adam who cares about nothing but himself.
While the pair continue to argue about their past mistakes with one another, Daniel Osbourne has been scouring the shopping centre for Adam after he heard from Sarah that he had gone to meet up with his ex-girlfriend.

But their argument quickly escalates as Daniel tuned the corner to hear Adam shouting from the balcony as Lydia slapped him across the face and pushed him over the railings.
Adam is soon rushed to hospital to tend to his wounds from the fall, as the doctor tells Ken Barlow and Daniel that Adam has suffered a serious bleed behind the eye and needs an operation in order to help save his sight.
As the pair quiz Adam about his fall suggesting Lydia was to blame for his serious injuries, Adam explains how he doesn’t remember the moments that led up to his fall.

It is left to Peter Barlow to break the news to Sarah who asserts Adam is no longer her problem, but Carla Connor spotted how much she cares for her husband and urged her to be there for him when he wakes up.
Will Adam be able to restore his sight and short-term memory, or will he remain with permanent visual impairment?
