Carol Kirkwood has revealed she met the Queen three times – and she told viewers about what the world famous monarch is really like in person.
The weather expert presented her forecasting segment live from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday’s BBC Breakfast (June 1) – ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations which kick off later this week.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations are set to honour 70 years of Her Majesty’s service to the country, and it will see Brits enjoy a four-day weekend from Thursday.
It’s been a busy year already for Scottish weather star Carol, 60, as last week she told viewers she was happily engaged.

However, charismatic Carol is already back on our screens to tell BBC viewers all about what conditions they can expect from the days ahead – and this week she was on royal turf.
She had just finished her weather segment live from the Buckingham Palace gardens when BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent wanted to tell viewers how many times Carol had met Her Majesty.
Sally said: “Carol before we let you go, I just wanted to share with everybody at home. You are a very lucky lady in lots of ways, aren’t you? And one of the ways you are very lucky is I know you have previously met the Queen.
“Not once, not twice… how many times?”

Carol, who is a national treasure herself, burst out laughing before confirming she’d managed to meet the monarch three times
She said: “You’ve given it away Sal. Three times. I’ve been honoured to meet the Queen three times, and she is a lovely lady as you always hear, she has a really good sense of humour.
The forecaster added: “She’s just lovely,” and that she’s “very polite as well.”

Sally’s co-host Jon Clark asked if the Queen did a curtsy, but Carol corrected him in saying it was her that did the curtsy, a common sign of respect when meeting the monarch.
Jon then quipped: “I hope she [the Queen] pops down with some of that mint that you want.”
Carol had previously gushed over cucumber sandwiches which are served at Buckingham Palace – and how mint can boost the flavour.

Carol replied: “It really makes a difference to a cucumber sandwich!”
Later on, Carol explained Her Majesty “makes you feel so relaxed and at ease” considering you’re nervous to meet her at first.
The presenter said: “She’s Her Majesty the Queen for goodness’ sake!”
Sally cheekily referred to Carol herself as “Her Majesty” before moving on with the show.
