Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez has broken his silence on rumours he’s quitting the BBC show after seven years.
Gorka was partnered with Countryfile star Helen Skelton this year, eventually reaching the final together – but missing out on the Glitterball trophy.
It set plenty of rumours in motion that Gorka is feeling a “seven year itch” after never lifting the trophy; the same itch that led other Strictly stars to quit to explore other projects in the past.

But now Gorka has denied the rumours, after his fiancée Gemma Atkinson said they “aren’t true at all”.
Gorka replied to one fan who simply “couldn’t believe” he had “left Strictly”. Gorka snapped back: “Don’t believe it!” with a winking emoji.
It comes after Gemma explained: “Keep being sent this. Wish I hadn’t said to all backstage crew ‘see you next year’ now.”
“Obvs this isn’t true at all! Same as it wasn’t true about Gio last year. Merry Christmas.”
But it the rumours go against what a source told The Sun, explaining: “[Gorka] looked so devastated last week because he knew the final might be his last chance of taking home the Glitterball, which had eluded him twice before.”
They added that Gorka had become a “name in his own right” and could potentially pursue other telly projects in future.
Despite the source claiming there was “no suggestion” of ill feeling between Gorka and the show producers, the source added: “It remains to be seen if producers will now offer him a deal enticing enough to sign up for next year’s show.”

Speaking after the final, Gorka told fans: “Today is the end of this special journey. We are so grateful that we made it all the way to the Final and thats because all of your love and support.
“We can’t wait to dance one more time in the @bbcstrictly floor for you all and THANK YOU!! For everything. This is for you guys!!!”
