1000-lb Best Friends star Vanessa Cross has explained that she feels “extremely self conscious” about her body.

The 44-year-old has revealed that she hoped for surgery to remove her “friend” – her excess skin.

TLC took to their Instagram page with a trailer for the latest episode where Vanessa is explaining how excited she is to see the doctor to find out if she can have the operation she wants.

In the clip Vanessa explained to her doctor that her “hanging” was making her feel “self conscious” and slapped the loose skin on her under arms that she called her “fat wings”.

She then showed the loose skin tucked into her trousers and called it “embarrassing.”

Firstly the doctor congratulated her on her weight loss but the delivered some heartbreaking news.

He said: “Right now is not the right time for surgery. You’re probably not quite ready yet.”

Vanessa looked devastated and later commented on the post: “I did not want to hear that,” along with a crying face emoji.

However fans took to the comments section to motivate the star and compliment her on her weight loss.

One user wrote: “You are his biggest success, he wants to make sure you lose the weight you need so that when it’s time for your skin removal, he has you looking tight and right.

“Girl don’t you know your [sic] his masterpiece. He is taking his time on you. I can already see your pretty legs and figure underneath the skin and so does he. Keep losing the weight girlfriend. You know it takes time to make fine wine. I’m your number 1 cheerleader.”

Another agreed, adding: “You have done amazing work since your surgery. Also love your personality!”

Some fans criticised the doctor for not giving Vanessa the operation.

One commented: “Aww, poor Vanessa, you have done so well ! I think you really do deserve it. Now.”

Another penned: “Not ready?? How much more does she need to lose?! Good Lord!! She did so well and she should have the surgery. She can have it.”
