Lorraine Kelly replaced on ITV show as she's sent home moments before going live

Lorraine Kelly has been sent home from her own breakfast show moments before going live on air – resulting in bosses scrambling to find a last-minute replacement.

The 63-year-old is a regular on ITV, having fronted her self-titled hit morning programme since 2010.

However, on Wednesday (February 22), despite heading to the studios to prepare to host the latest instalment, Lorraine was forced to leave after falling ill.

During Good Morning Britain, hosts Ed Balls and Kate Garraway shared the news after Lorraine failed to show up for their mid-show crossover.

Instead, ITV favourite Ranvir Singh was sat in the host’s seat and revealed that she had been rushed into work to help out ITV bosses.

Taking to Twitter, Lorraine also confirmed she was unwell with a “hideous” bug and was gutted to miss interviewing Queen frontman Adam Lambert.
