During the early hours of February 19, Met police officers were called to the exclusive Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Central London.
The incident took place following Brown’s appearance in the capital after he played at a number of sold-out gigs at The O2, watched by celebrity attendees including football star Harry Kane.
A source told The Sun: “A row broke out with a guy and Brown’s crowd and the man was hit over the head with a bottle.
“He tried to get up off the ground to escape but he was surrounded and then punched and kicked before security broke it up.”
It is believed that detectives have taken CCTV footage and have spoken to potential witnesses that also attended the club on the night.
The Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 04:40hrs on Sunday, 19 February following reports of a man assaulted at a venue in Hanover Square, W1.
“There have been no arrests. Inquiries continue.”
The victim who received medical attention is said to have injuries that were not life-threatening.
Brown will return to London to play at the O2 again this month, and reportedly faces questions from the police.
