Lorraine defends Queen Consort Camilla ranting ‘she’s good for’ King Charles

Lorraine Kelly jumped to the defence of the Queen Consort, Camilla, saying she is “good for” King Charles.

The popular TV host took to the airwaves of her daily ITV breakfast show, where she hosted a segment discussing the future role of the Queen Consort.

The star welcomed journalist Celia Walden and Dr Anna Whitlock onto the programme to discuss several issues relating to the Royal Family in the run-up to the Coronation.

As the personality rounded off the item, which included discussions of the Netflix series The Crown, she defended Her Majesty, The Queen Consort Camilla.

She thought that not only has Camilla been an amazing support for His Majesty, she also said that she would continue to be a steady force for him when he is “grumpy.”

Referring to the Coronation, Lorraine excitedly exclaimed to Celia Walden: “I’m sure we’ll be talking about this again!

“But I think whatever you may think, clearly they love each other very much. You can see that there’s a love story.

“And she is so good for him. Because when he’s grumpy, she can sort of like say, behave!”

Meanwhile, earlier in the programme wife of Piers Morgan Celia also defended the Queen Consort, especially after the bombshell claims in Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare.

Lorraine asked the columnists to comment after she felt that Camilla had been portrayed as both the “Wicked Witch of the West and the East” in the book.

However, the personality thought that nothing stuck in the public sphere and people actually liked her more because of it.

Celia explained: “I think it had the opposite effect. I think people really jumped to her defence, because, again, you know, here’s someone who’s never complained.

“She’s had a lot of stuff thrown at her. I think we’re all grown ups so we understand that marriages don’t necessarily work out and then afterwards the best thing is, you make the best of everything, you try and stay close to the family which she has.

“She’s got her ex husband coming to the coronation, which is a lovely thing.”

Lorraine jumped in: “Talk about blended families! It’s a prime example, it really is.”
