Madonna ‘had to be injected with a drug used for reversing the effects of opioids’ after being found unresponsive at her home.
According to new reports, Madonna was injected with Narcan – otherwise known as Naloxone – which is used to “reverse or reduce” effects associated with opioids.
It can also be used in emergencies to help patients experiencing septic shock.

In the Queen of Pop’s case, the drug was reportedly used to combat her life-threatening septic shock, before she was rushed to hospital.
Madonna later spent time in the ICU suffering from a bacterial infection.
Septic shock is a condition caused by an infection – which can in turn be caused by fungi like candida or viruses.
Symptoms of septic shock include weakness in the body, chills, a rapid heart rate and fast breathing, which can later affect the heart’s ability to pump blood to the body’s organs.
Her family were left “preparing for the worst” at the time, with a source telling the Daily Mail amid her hospital dash: “For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst.”
The singer was thought to be working long days in rehearsals for her Celebration Tour which led to her health issues, and the tour has now been postponed.
A source told US Weekly: “Although Madonna is looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible, she’s also taking her recovery seriously and isn’t going to rush anything because she is focused on her health above all else.”
And other insiders have claimed to People magazine that Madonna was pushing herself too hard, and ignoring her symptoms.

One said: “She ignored some symptoms of illness for quite a while because she thought they would go away.
“But she didn’t want to take time away from rehearsals. She was rundown and not feeling 100% for a while in anticipation of her tour.”
Madonna, who has six children, had been due to start her 84-date Celebration world tour on July 15 – but dates have now been pushed back.
