Neighbours star suffered ‘excruciatingly painful’ miscarriage of twins as she starts IVF

Neighbours star Olympia Valance, who is set to be on UK screens alongside Danny Dyer in new Channel 5 series Heat, has opened up about her fertility issues.

Sharing a video on Instagram, she captioned it: “The video says it all,” as she tagged her husband Tom Bell-Chambers, before opening up to her fans.

Olympia began the video by saying: “I don’t usually show my vulnerabilities on my social platforms but I hope it might [prpovde some comfort to someone who might be struggling with fertility issues, as we are.”

She continued; “We miscarried twins right in the middle of COVID, which as you can imagine was excruciatingly painful and ever since then, we haven’t been able to conceive and so that would be two years now of really trying and for any woman or couple out there trying to get pregnant, there is no worse pain of looking down at a negative pregnancy test, your heart breaks in two.”

The Neighbours star, who played Paige Smith, then revealed that she and her husband would be going through IVF in a bid to try and have a child.

Olympia added that she was “petrified” to go down the IVF route as she had never coped well with hormones, but she would be trying it so she could explore every option.

She said: “I just wanted to come on here to say I will be documenting this process in the hope that I can make it a little less daunting for anyone who has the same fear I had, and to make it easier for any couple trying to conceive.”

Olympia finished the message by saying: “I want babies, I want to do everything I can to get them,” as she told her struggling fans that she could “see them and feel them” and “knew their pain”.

The actress was quickly inundated with support from her former co-stars as they rushed to send their love, with Rebekah Elmaloglou saying: “My darling girl! Love you and sending bubba vibes.

Madeleine West agreed: “Darling girl,” adding heart emojis, and Andrew Morley chimed in: “I have everything crossed for you both.”

Neighbours is set to return to the UK in September.
