Former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson has been praised for revealing her post-baby body and “showing the reality of after birth”.
The ex-TV star gave birth to her second child with Strictly’s Spanish professional dancer Gorka Márquez, with the pair welcoming baby Thiago to their brood just two weeks ago.
But she took to the platform on Monday (31st July) to show her fans what her “normal” body looked like in a candid video clip.

Gemma who is a self-confessed fitness fanatic has been wowing her fans throughout her nine month pregnancy, continuing to workout right up until her bundle of joy was born.
However, the actress has now revealed in an honest post that she has no ambition to exercise at the moment, with her priority remaining to recover from a C-section delivery.
In the mum-of-two’s recent post, she can be seen posing in the mirror wearing a baggy pair of cream tracksuit bottoms and a grey sleeveless top that was rolled up to show off her torso.
Turning to the side, Gemma proudly flaunted her postpartum body all while thanking herself for “growing, carrying and birthing” Thiago.
Sharing a lengthy update with fans on her progress, she said: “All the things postpartum we go through. It’s very common for tummy’s to stay swollen after pregnancy and they usually stay swollen longer after a C section due to the inflammation and abdominal swelling from surgery. So don’t worry if you feel you still look pregnant as I do here. ITS NORMAL!”
The soap star went on: “I’m not expecting to look like my old self for months down the line yet. I haven’t even left the house other than pottering about in the garden. I’ve been mindful to rest as much as I can to aid recovery down the line. Weather permitting, towards the end of this week I’m going to start some short walks.
“Until I’ve had my mummy MOT that’s all the exercise I’ll be doing. What I’ve been focusing on instead is trying to make myself feel like my old self, and so far it’s worked.”
In spite of the “broken sleep for two weeks”, Gemma confirmed to fans that she was feeling “upbeat and ready to take on the day”.
She explained that her boost in moral had been helped by taking “cold showers” and snacking on healthy and wholesome foods, such as nuts, yoghurt and dark chocolate.

Another mood boosting trick she had up her sleeve was to say positive affirmations to herself each day, reminding herself that “she can do it” no matter the sleep deprivation.
While Gemma confirmed that she was now down 12lbs since birth, the TV starlet explained she had some way to go with her ideal weight, with the new mum revealing that she’d eventually like to shed a further stone.
Meanwhile, over on her Instagram story Gemma confirmed that her TV husband Gorka, had already returned to Strictly for rehearsals already, leaving her to entertain Mia with glitzy re-runs of the BBC favourite while Thiago napped.
She penned: “Daddy has returned for rehearsals so there’s only one thing for it.”
