On the night, Judge Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Annabel, but Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas all opted to save Bobby, with head judge Shirley praising both couples for being “absolutely extraordinary”. She said: “I felt that both couples lifted their performance, I thought there was technical qualities on both sides, improvements galore, but again one tiny mistake coming out of a pivot turn and therefore my decision would be to save Bobby and Dianne.”
As they revealed their decision following the dance off, Annabel made a sweet comment to her partner. Tess Daly asked if she had any final words and Annabel said it had been a “life-changing and extraordinary experience”.
She said: “I have to congratulate Bobby and Dianne and all the contestants that took part in it. But obviously, it’s been an amazing, magical experience for me. Johannes, you have been absolutely extraordinary.”
Annabel told Johannes that he had given her a reason to get out of bed, adding that he had distracted and “healed” her. He was praised for being “patient, caring and loving”.
“You are an unbelievably special human being. I simply adore you. Thank you so much,” she said. Johannes thanked Strictly bosses for pairing him up with Annabel, adding that his life is “richer” with her in it. He explained he hoped they’d continue to dance together after the show came to a close.
Prior to their exit, the Strictly professionals put on a group performance and Take That joined to share their new single This Life. It’s the last results day of the series, with the final airing on December 16 at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Bobby will go head-to-head with Layton Williams and Ellie Leach in a bid to become Strictly champion
