Liam Gallagher has shared a concerning health update, confessing he’s on a “downward slide” and trying to “undo years of partying” after dealing with several health problems.
Last year, the former Oasis frontman had a hip replacement due to arthritis caused by Hashimoto’s Disease. He was diagnosed with this autoimmune condition, which impacts the thyroid, in 2017.
He also suffers from psoriasis, leading to inflamed, painful, and flaky skin. Back in the 1990s and early 00s, when he was the lead singer of Oasis alongside his brother, Noel, the 51-year-old was known for his wild lifestyle, often boasting about drinking, drug use, and fighting.

However, in a recent chat with The Sun to promote his new tour, he paints a very different picture of life as a middle-aged man. His routine now includes herbal sleep aids, dealing with arthritis that has left his bones “mashed up”, dandruff all over his body, going to bed before Emmerdale even starts, and gentle exercise in his local park, reports the Mirror.
He said: “You’ve got to undo all the bad work you’ve done through f***ing getting off your head and all that. It’s time to undo it all now and get back to reality.” The star also confessed that he thinks it’s now time to “get healthy”.
The former Oasis frontman has now revealed that he’s now an early riser, often waking up at 4am. He attributes this change to his age and a herbal sleeping tablet he takes to ease the pain of his arthritis.
In 2022, Liam shared that he had been diagnosed with arthritis due to his ongoing thyroid problem, Hashimoto’s disease. This common autoimmune condition can cause the vocal cords to swell if not treated, leading to a hoarse voice.
The rock star, who is a father to four children, finds joy in his family, his dogs, and his mum. However, he admits that thoughts about his own mortality often cross his mind.
The singer said: “As you get older, life is precious, do you know what I mean? When you are younger you don’t care. But as you get older, you’re getting closer to wherever you’re meant to be going. I’m definitely on the downwards slide, though.”
Regardless of his take, Liam also mentioned that “we are all going to die” in the end. Liam is a father of three and was previously married to Nicole Appleton and Patsy Kensit.
