Noughties hitmaker Kate Nash ‘secretly engaged’ and is set to wed this year

Noughties favourite Kate Nash has secretly got engaged to her childhood sweetheart, with the happy couple set to wed later on this year.

The Foundations hitmaker, who rose to fame back in 2007 with her debut album Made of Bricks, has been dating Thomas Silverman for several years. Surprisingly, the 36-year-old met her future husband when they were both at school together.

The auburn beauty’s joyous news comes ahead of the launch of her new album 9 Sad Symphonies, which is out next month. This will be her fifth studio album and will be out just five days before she takes to the stage at Glastonbury.

Throughout her career, Kate has kept her personal life out of the press, but often shares insights into it with her fans through her music. A source claimed that Kate Kate and her rumoured fiancé Tom are over the moon with their exiting news.

It is understood that the happy couple have been dating for several years despite keeping their relationship from the press. An insider told The Sun: “Kate and Tom are engaged and are planning to get married later this year.

“They have been quietly dating for several years and actually met when they were at school.” The source revealed that things are “great” after the pair were reunited by “fate.”

Alongside her new music, the singer gas also confirmed that she will be performing at Glastonbury this summer. Kate, who previously dated Cribs frontman Ryan Jarman, describes Tomas as the first partner she’s had who is a “really good person”.

The UK singer has since moved across the pond to the sunny shores of LA when she was working on her acting career. Loyal fans of the chart-topper will remember when she starred alongside Alison Brie in the women’s wrestling comedy-drama, Glow.

She now lives with Tomas, who is an aspiring horticulturist, in their Los Angeles home with their two rescue dogs. Kate’s new single. Millions of Heartbeats, is the first single from her new album which drops on June 31.

Speaking about her new track, Nash said: “Millions of Heartbeats is a song about losing your spark. It can be difficult to find hope in a world that’s constantly bombarding you with bad news, chaos and capitalism.

“It’s scary when you lose that spark and can’t lift yourself out of a pit. It can feel like that light you once had might never come back. The button to the song is that there’s millions of heartbeats on this planet and that’s the reason we have to try.

“All we have right now is Earth and each other. And that’s actually a lot. So just keep trying.” She added: “It’s about that point in the pandemic where I had lost my spark for life. And I’m a pretty sparky person, so it was really sad to me.”

Other tracks on her album look at her mental health struggles and dealing with depression and anxiety. Kate went on: “It’s natural for an artist to write about emotions and feelings and darkness.

“Also a lot of my fans suffer from depression too and I noticed it more when I was doing my livestream chats over lockdown. Not talking about it is not the solution. Being open and creating that community within my fanbase is really important.”
