Horror fans ‘can’t even watch’ film they’re calling ‘scariest they’ve ever seen’

Film fans are terrified to watch one very chilling horror movie.

“If you want a scary movie, watch Wolf Creek. It’s based on a true story!! Australia[n] serial killer,” wrote one member of the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook. Down in the comment section, one terrified person wrote: “I can’t bring myself to watch it…scares me!”

“One of the scariest I’ve ever seen, think it’s because I’m more scared by people than things that are not believable,” added another film fan. Someone else wrote: “I really like it,” while someone else said: “There is a Wolf Creek TV series as well with the main actor. It’s incredible.”

Another member of the group admitted they simply cannot bring themselves to give the film a shot: “Can’t do that kind of horror, only fake, not something that could actually happen.” Wolf Creek is a 2005 horror mystery film starring John Jarratt, Greg McLean, Andy McPhee, Kestie Morassi, Aaron Sterns, Cassandra Magrath and Nathan Phillips.

Wolf Creek was released back in 2005

The Australian film follows the story of three backpackers on a trip as they find themselves being hunted down by a crazed killer. Set in the Aussie Outback, the group are stalked by MIck Taylor who is described as a “sadistic, psychopathic, xenophobic serial killer”.

Some film fans “can’t bring themselves to watch” the terrifying flick

Wolf Creek’s story is loosely based on the real-life murders of a group of backpackers by Ivan Milat in the 1990s and Bradley Murdoch in 2001. Known as the “backpacker murders,” the bodies of seven missing people between the ages of 19 and 22 were found in Belanglo State Forest near Berrima.

Wolf Creek is reportedly inspired by true events

They were partially buried and identified as five foreign backpackers, while two were Australian. Milat was convicted of the murders back in 1996 and given seven consecutive life sentences and 18 years without parole.

He later died in prison in 2019, never confessing to the murders. Wolf Creek is also said to be inspired by Bradley John Murdoch, who is currently serving life imprisonment for the murder of an English backpacker in 2001.
