Nigella Lawson has become the face of Greggs for Christmas.
The posh telly chef has reportedly signed a six-figure deal to star in the bakery chain’s festive advert. The 64-year-old was snapped clutching a bag of baked Greggs goods while filming in Ealing, West London.
Nigella – known as the Domestic Goddess – is even expected to suggest ideas for the company’s seasonal menu. For the adverts, she donned a dark wool coat as she left a house covered with fairy lights.

A selection of Greggs’ seasonal hot drinks including orange hot chocolate and salted caramel latte were also laid out on a table. She was also surrounded by chicken, sage and onion festive treats and Crimbo lunch baguettes.
The TV cook is known for her sausage roll recipe which includes using chestnuts, nutmeg and dried sage. And she appears to have the midas touch at Christmas,
When she urged people to try goose fat for the perfect roast potato in 2006, sales doubled at Waitrose and Tesco. And after she used prunes in a recipe on telly show Nigella’s Christmas Kitchen, Waitrose said sales of the dried fruit rocketed by 30%.
Earlier this year, Nigella revealed her guilty pleasure meal was chicken nuggets. She admitted she likes the kids’ food with spicy mayonnaise.
Nigella said: “Ostensibly a meal for children, but I still find them very easy to pick at, too. Especially with sriracha mayo instead of ketchup.”
It comes after Greggs topped a recent poll by YouGov for being the most popular fast-food chain in the UK. The bakery giant beat off JD Wetherspoon, Pizza Express and KFC.
