Gary Barlow’s rarely-seen son floors fans as they say the same thing about him

Gary Barlow has left fans in a state of shock with a rare family photo that has sparked quite the conversation.

The 53-year-old Take That legend doesn’t often share snaps of his loved ones, but a recent pic has got tongues wagging – mainly due to his towering son.

In the picture, Gary can be seen posing with his 24-year-old son Daniel Barlow, and daughters Emily, 22, and Daisy, 15, all of whom he shares with his wife Dawn Andrews. A screenshot of the snap has been shared by thousands on social media, who were taken aback by just how tall Daniel is.

Users of X (formerly Twitter) noted that Daniel, who stands at an impressive 6ft2in (1.88m), towers over his dad Gary, who is a more average 5ft8in (1.73m). One user quipped: “Gary Barlow’s massive son is the reason twitter was made for.”

Another penned: “Many parents at some point see one or more of their offspring grow up to be taller than them – but few can have experienced this so viscerally as.” A third, referencing Alan Partridge, joked: “Gary Barlow’s son is scared, he doesn’t know why he’s so big,” reports the Mirror.

In response, someone praised the quote as an “excellent Partridge reference.” And Partridge wasn’t the only pop culture reference made. “Gary Barlow’s son is so big this photo is like the scene from Lord of the Rings when Gandalf is walking with the Hobbits,” another follower wrote.

Some fans have compared Daniel to a Viking warrior, with one commenting: “A vast Viking axeman – and to a songsmith born! Extraordinary. He may smite his musical father in one mighty blow and ride – laughing – to Valhalla to feast. But it may displease the gods. such is the way of war.”

However, others were less focused on Daniel’s height and more intrigued by Gary’s outfit choice. The musician had opted for vibrant blue chinos and a cream-coloured button-up shirt adorned with butterflies, a decision that some found questionable.

One individual commented: “That’s crazy, but that’s not the big story here IMO. There needs to be some discussion on Gary’s trousers and shirt combo.”

Meanwhile, others noted that while Daniel may tower over his dad, he is only around four inches taller than average, making him a pretty normal height. One person remarked: “Best part: his son is an entirely normal 6’2”.
