Gary Barlow isn’t the only celebrity dwarfed by one of their children.
The 53-year-old Take That frontman shared a rare family snap that has sent social media into meltdown. In the pic, Gary’s 23-year-old son Daniel absolutely towers over him and the rest of his family and people can’t stop talking about it.
But Gary is not the only famous parent who looks tiny in comparison to their offspring. The likes of Hollywood A-listers Pierce Brosnan and Michael Douglas can apparently relate to the hitmaker.

Gary Barlow’s son Daniel

It’s safe to say Gary’s son Daniel towers over his family in this now-viral photo. It sees Gary and wife Dawn standing with Daniel and their one of their daughters (they share Emily, 22, and Daisy, 15).
Fans couldn’t resist making jokes about the impressive height of Daniel, who had an arm resting on the singer’s shoulder. One user on X quipped: “Gary Barlow’s massive son is the reason twitter was made for.”
Another wrote: “Many parents at some point see one or more of their offspring grow up to be taller than them – but few can have experienced this so viscerally as.” A third, referencing Alan Partridge, joked: “Gary Barlow’s son is scared, he doesn’t know why he’s so big”.

A fourth compared Daniel to a Viking warrior, joking: “A vast Viking axeman – and to a songsmith born! Extraordinary. He may smite his musical father in one mighty blow and ride – laughing – to Valhalla to feast. But it may displease the gods. such is the way of war.”
However, fans may be surprised to learn that Daniel isn’t actually a super-human looming far above every other male who walks the earth He’s tall, yes, but not miles beyond the average height of a man in the UK.
He stands at 6″2, compared to his dad Gary’s 5″7. The average male height in the UK is 5″9, meaning Gary is slightly under average.
Donald Trump’s son Barron

Donald Trump, who has just been elected as the 47th US President, has an extremely tall son named Barron. The 18-year-old stands at 6ft 7in and makes Trump look teeny up at the podium.
In fact, some social media users have been calling for Barron and Gary’s son Daniel to have a fight. Outlet PoliticsJoe asked in a post on X/Twitter: “Who’d win in a fight: Barron Trump or Gary Barlow’s son”.
People were quick to reply. “Barlow wins,” one said. “Barron Trump is too lanky,” and another added: “Gary Barlow’s massive son wipes the floor with him”.
Pierce Brosnan’s son Dylan

Former James Bond hunk Pierce Brosnan is pretty tall himself, standing at 6ft 1in. But you wouldn’t think it, when he’s stood next to his son Dylan on the red carpet.
The 27-year-old has shot up in recent years and now stands at 6ft 5in, so he’s noticeably bigger than 007 these days. He’s followed his dad into the acting business, having worked on the 2023 film Sly and producing TV shows such as The Sinanon Fix.
Julianne Moore’s daughter Liv Helen

Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore is dwarfed by both of her children, son Caleb and daughter Liv Helen Moore Freundlich. Julianne is 5ft 3in, so it’s hardly a surprise that she’s not the tallest in her family.
But both kids seem to have inherited the tall gene from their dad Bart Freundlich, who stands at 6ft 2in. Caleb and Bart were quite literally heads and shoulders above Julianne in one snap (above).

And Live was much taller than the Boogie Nights star when the pair were pictured out and about. Caleb is pursuing a career in music, whereas Liv graduated from Northwestern University earlier this year.
Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit’s son Lennon

Liam Gallagher’s son Lennon now looks down on the Oasis frontman when it comes to height. Liam is 5ft 10in but Lennon has overtaken him as he’s 6ft, making him a lot taller than his EastEnders star mum Patsy Kensit, who is 5ft 4 in.
Lennon, 25, was pictured with mum Patsy earlier this month at FLANNELS X in London.
Michael Douglas’ son Dylan

Michael Douglas is 5ft 10in but he’s not as tall as his 24-year-old son Dylan, whom he shares with his actress wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. Dylan’s exact height isn’t known but it looks like he’s 6ft, going by red carpet snaps of the pair.
Michael previously revealed how his attitude on starting a family has changed over years. He told AARP The Magazine in 2010: “My career was the most important thing in my life, followed by marriage and children.
“And it’s completely reversed now. I never anticipated starting a family and the joy of raising kids at my age.”
Jessica Alba’s daughter Honor

Actress Jessica Alba has a 16-year-old daughter named Honor Warren who is already a fair bit taller than her. The Fantastic Four star admitted she started crying when she realised her teenage daughter had overtaken her in the height department.
She told People: “Okay, so it was during Covid and our friends were over, and it was kind of like they were about to have a baby, and he was like, “Honor’s taller than you” and I was like “No she’s not!’.
“He was like, “Yes she is… Stand back-to-back,” and he took this photo and I just started crying.” Jessica shares Honor and daughter Haven with Cash Warren.
Jessica Garner’s daughter Violet

Violet isn’t as tall as her dad Ben Affleck, but she’s far outgrown her mum Jennifer Garner, who is 5ft 9in. The 18-year-old is 6ft, meaning she’s much taller than the PS I Love You star.
Ben is pretty tall for a Hollywood hunk – his height has been listed between 6ft 2in and 6ft 4in in several publications.
