Huge Hollywood star spotted drinking at local pub as they ‘forget to pay’

Ant Man star Paul Rudd, named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, shocked locals when he popped into a small pub in Ireland and enjoyed a sing song with folk band Hermitage Green

Imagine popping into your local pub for a pint and seeing Paul Rudd sipping on a pint.

Many can only dream of such an encounter, but dreams became reality for lucky customers at a watering hole in Dublin. The huge Hollywood star was spotted enjoying a drink – and a singalong – in the cosy little boozer, named the Olympia.

The 55-year-old actor, famed for playing Ant Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and tons of other movies, was seen hanging out with Limerick folk band Hermitage Green, who had stopped by for a quick drink before their concert.

And Paul probably got more than he bargained for as the band ended up singing a song for the star, who was dressed in a khaki hoodie, a utility jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms. The band took to Instagram with a video of them singing popular Scottish song The Parting Glass.

A clip showed Paul smiling with a small glass of poitín, a traditional Irish spirit, while stood surrounded by the band as they sang to him. Paul joined in with a cheers and raised his glass with the band, who had just done their soundcheck.

And it seems Paul may have got carried away as one band member, perhaps jokingly, suggested he forgot to pay them for one of the band’s t-shirts. The band wrote: “We finished sound check in the Olympia yesterday and slipped out for a quiet pint of Guinness and a poitín chaser.

“If anyone sees Paul Rudd walking around Dublin wearing a Hermitage Green tshirt go up and say hello to him, he’s a lovely fella. And Paul if you’re reading this – you forgot to give us the 15 euro for it.”

Vocalist and guitarist Dan Murphy couldn’t resist name-dropping Rudd as he thanked the punters who came to the gig and. He said: “I can’t get the smell of poitín and Paul Rudd out of my clothes this morning”.
