Coronation Street legend slams ITV after Gino D’Acampo allegations exposed

A former Coronation Street star has spoken out about the allegations surrounding Gino D’Acampo, accusing ITV of “crucifying” the TV chef with their “new WOKE agenda”

A former Coronation Street star has lashed out at ITV over the recent claims against celeb chef Gino D’Acampo who is facing accusations of being “distressing” and “sexually inappropriate” for more than a decade.

Gino denies the claims, but it hasn’t stopped other stars from weighing in on the drama. Actress Vicky Entwistle, who bid farewell to Weatherfield and her role as Janice Battersby 13 years back, shared a snap of Gino on her socials, remarking: “I don’t know this man personally, therefore have no reason to stick my neck out in his defence.”

Going further, she blasted: “BUT! ! ! ITV played that man for all he was worth… cheeky, naughty, foreign, hilarious! ! ! It all fitted in 10 years ago… now with a new WOKE agenda they crucify him? ! ? ! “

The ITV News investigation brought up several accusers, with one woman claiming Gino said during a shoot he’d “like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter”.

Another felt awkward when Gino rocked up in his boxers and cracked crude jokes about his bits prepping for a shoot.

Gino has hit back at allegations of inappropriate behaviour, including a claim that he threatened a junior staff member on his show Gino’s Italian Express. A female crew member alleged: “I was present when Gino said to the runner, ‘If you don’t get me a Cornetto, I will f*** your girlfriend’,” However, Gino has “firmly denied” these claims, reports OK!.

In a statement to ITV News, he said: “I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago. I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.”

“Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately. I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.”
