Olympic swimmer, 30, told mother Caroline to stay away from ceremony after a high-profile row and mum she’ll back down at the last minute
Adam Peaty’s estranged mum has gone back on her decision to gatecrash his wedding to Holly Ramsay.
The Olympic swimmer, 30, reportedly told mother Caroline Peaty to stay away from Saturday’s ceremony after a devastating row that has split the star-studded family. Many of his relatives are now said not to be going.
Heartbroken Caroline had originally vowed to show up at the venue despite being snubbed. But she backed down at the last minute, with a family member saying: “She will not be there because it would be too sad and she don’t want to spoil his big day.”
The news came as Holly, 25, was spotted leaving dad Gordon Ramsay’s £7.5million mansion in Wandsworth, south London. The model already looked bridal in a long, white coat as she made her way to her car.
TV chef Gordon and wife Tana were seen heading to the same vehicle. And Holly’s sister Tilly, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing with Adam in 2021, was snapped getting into a nearby Porsche.
Holly is due to marry dad-of-one Adam at Bath Abbey in Somerset – and Caroline had previously insisted: “I will be there and I will watch from the street.”
But Caroline’s husband Mark is said to have inspired a change of heart, persuading her it would be “too upsetting” to watch.
Around 200 guests are expected including telly chef Gordon, 59, and family friends David and Victoria Beckham. The historic venue has been booked for a full day and will be off-limits to tourists, sources claim.
A security team will also be on patrol to stop people trying to take pictures of the happy couple.
It comes in the wake of a public spat that has rumbled on since November, when Caroline was reportedly left out of Holly’s hen do – despite Gordon attending Adam’s stag. This is thought to have deeply upset the mother of the groom.
Her sister Louise Williams posted on social media, calling on her nephew to apologise for the “hurt” he had caused his mum. Caroline was then said to have been “banned” from the wedding – as well as from seeing grandson George Anderson, five, from Adam’s relationship with artist Eiri Munro.
The Daily Star has approached the Peaty and Ramsay families for comment.
