Adam Peaty has tied the knot with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly at Bath Abbey, but the swimmer became embroiled in a bitter family feud in the lead up to the wedding
Adam Peaty was sent a brutal text from a family member just hours before he wed Holly Ramsay.
The Olympic swimmer tied the knot with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter at Bath Abbey in a star-studded ceremony on Saturday (December 28). However, the lead up to the big day was plagued by a bitter family feud – with most of Adam’s family uninvited apart from his sister Beth.
And it’s since revealed that the gold medalist’s aunt sent him a furious text message before he walked down the aisle. His aunt Louise, who was not invited, is said to have ripped into Adam and Holly for how she believes they have treated Adam’s mum Caroline (also not invited).
According to MailOnline, she texted him: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.
“Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.”
It comes after Adam’s mum Caroline revealed she would no longer be gatecrashing the ceremony, which she and other family members haven’t been invited to. She had originally planned on turning up.
But a family member told The Sun: “She will not be there because it would be too sad and she don’t want to spoil his big day.”
She previously said she believes it’s “the end” of her relationship with her son. She told the Daily Mail: “I know it’s the end.
“But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.
“There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much. I hope your marriage is a good one, I don’t wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage, like your dad and me. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end.”
Caroline’s husband Mark is said to have inspired a change of heart, persuading her it would be “too upsetting” to watch.
It’s clear Adam had been up bright and early as he had posted on Instagram the morning of the wedding. He took to Instagram with a snap of an outdoor swimming pool overlooking fields at sunrise.
He captioned the snap: “Morning of our wedding [love heart].”
The likes of The Beckhams (David, Victoria, Cruz and Harper) were among the celebrity guests seen arriving at the ceremony. TV presenter Dan Walker, and Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies were also in attendance.
