Gladiators hunk injured co-star in brutal brawl while filming new series

Gladiators star Toby Olubi injured one of his co-stars when he filmed the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The hunk, aka Phantom, insists he didn’t mean to cause any damage.

Gladiators star Phantom broke a rival’s nose while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The hunk, real name Toby Olubi, was tasked with brawl with Olympian Mack Horton in a brutal challenge. Once they started fighting, he went all out to win and things turned nasty.

Mack said: “I had a medical emergency caused by Toby. He punched me in the face as hard as he could. I didn’t know who Toby was at the time. But it turns out he’s quite good at fighting.” Mack’s nose is still damaged more than six months after filming.

The Aussie is planning to get an operation to get it fixed. He said: “My nose will never be the same. Ever since I got home, my wife’s been complaining about my snoring.

“I had it done a couple of years ago to open it up. I’ll probably get it done again in a couple of years.”

Toby insists he didn’t mean to injure Mack in the fight.

He said: “It’s a fight to not the death, but fight to the death sort of vibes. So as soon as we started, I removed Mack from being the person who I’m against.

“I just had a task to complete and I need to complete it as quickly as possible. And that’s what happened. The instructors made me do it. Don’t blame me!”

A raft of other celebs were left in agony while competing. Gabby Allen injured her knee and Dani Dyer slashed her legs.

The series starts on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.

Despite her injury, Dani has insisted the show gave her a massive boost. It has helped her cope with online trolling for the first time.

Earlier this week, she told the Daily Star: “It’s hard being in the public eye and I used be a bit negative about myself. I’d really beat myself up over stuff.

“But when I was doing Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, I learned not to give a s*** what people think about you.

“When you’re in the public eye, you’re told you have to shy away from negative comments. You’re told, ‘Don’t say anything’.

“But now if someone says something, I stick up for myself. When I see a mean comment that I don’t like, I will tell them I don’t like it.

“I have more belief in myself and I am a lot kinder to myself.”

She added: “This show is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life… both physically and mentally. It was exhausting. It tested me in ways I’ve never tested before. But it was so worth it.
