Corrie filming 'thrown into chaos' as eight crying babies cause 'nightmare' on set

Coronation Street has reportedly been facing filming problems with eight crying babies on set causing delays.

According to reports, the youngster actors are allegedly causing chaos for production staff and show’s actors with their continuous crying.

The little ones are in a storyline featuring beloved Corrie characters Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter, who recently welcomed quadruplets into the world together.

Their babies are named Aled, Carys, Lilo and Bryn, and Coronation Street don’t just need four actors for these roles.

The soap reportedly needs more than four baby actors for the roles so the young actors are not overworked.

A source said: “They have to have more than just four babies and have stand-ins for legal reasons so they can rotate.”

The insider continued telling The Sun that the eight tots aren’t making filming easy.

They added: “The problem is the babies start crying and the filming gets delayed. One starts crying then the others all follow.

“There are strict time limits allowed for each scene but the delays because of the babies is getting to crew members.

“After several attempts recently to film some scenes they ran out of time that they have legally allowed to have minors on set. It’s a nightmare.

“Another problem is that when the babies are on set and they start crying their mothers aren’t allowed to comfort their crying child as they can’t be allowed on set during filming as it’s against union rules.”

One ITV source also chimed in: “We come to work to get away from our kids and now this.”

Daily Star Online has contacted a Coronation Street representative for comment.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
